A715 Polyester Filler is a light grey two-component polyester spray filler. It is designed for the repair of large surfaces with extensive defects and irregularities – where use of conventional knifing stoppers would be inconvenient and time-consuming. Quick drying, easy to apply and with high film build, A715 Polyester Spray Filler may be used over a variety of substrate materials. Once sanded, it may be overcoated with any refinish primer or surfacer before application of topcoat.

PPG P.E. Spray Polyester Spray Filler A715 is a light grey, 2-component polyester spray filler developed for the repair of large surfaces with extensive defects and irregularities. It is an ideal solution where conventional knifing stoppers would be less practical and more time-consuming.
The product is quick drying, easy to apply and provides high film build, making it highly effective for professional body repair work. After sanding, it can be overcoated with a suitable PPG 2K primer or surfacer before the topcoat is applied.

Mixing ratio
By weight: 100 parts A715 : 2 parts SHA307 : 2 parts A714
By volume: 100 parts A715 : 2.5 parts SHA307 : 2 parts A714
Pot life at 20°C: approx. 20 minutes
Substrate preparation
- Bare steel: abrade with P80–P120 discs and ensure the surface is completely rust free. D845 DX310 High Strength Degreaser is recommended for cleaning.
- Aluminium, galvanised steel and fibreglass: must be pre-primed.
- Original paintwork: sand with P280 dry or P360 wet paper. Any exposed bare metal should be spot primed.
- Polyester fillers: dry sand with P80–P120 discs to avoid adhesion problems.
Application
- Number of coats: 3–4 coats (maximum 4)
- Flash off between coats: 5–10 minutes
- Flash off before stoving: 10 minutes
- Total dry film build: minimum 150 µm, maximum 600 µm
- Theoretical coverage: approx. 2–3 m²/litre

Sanding and overcoating
- Dry sanding: P180 followed by P320
- Wet sanding: do not wet sand
- Overcoat with: any suitable PPG 2K primer
- Topcoat: do not apply directly over the product; always use a suitable 2K primer or surfacer first
Important notes / limitations
- Do not apply over phenolic-based primers.
- All cans of A715 should be thoroughly hand-stirred before use.
- Only mix the amount required for immediate use.
- Do not return activated material to the original container.
- The product is water sensitive and must not be wet sanded.
- Clean all spray and mixing equipment thoroughly with suitable solvent or thinner immediately after use.
