NOVOL Plastic Primer Adhesion Promoter Spray (500ml)
NOVOL Plastic Primer is a fast-drying, one-component adhesion promoter primer spray that increases the adhesion of acrylic primers, acrylic coatings and polyurethane coatings on plastic, steel, galvanised steel and aluminium surfaces. It is especially useful for preparing polypropylene and mixed plastic parts before refinishing.

NOVOL Plastic Primer is a fast-drying, one-component adhesion promoter primer spray developed primarily for the preparation of plastic surfaces. Its purpose is to increase the adhesion of acrylic primers, acrylic coatings and polyurethane coatings on various substrates.
The product is especially useful when repairing and refinishing plastic parts, including polypropylene and its mixtures. It can also be used on several other substrates, such as steel, galvanised steel and aluminium, where proper adhesion is important before applying further coating layers.
NOVOL Plastic Primer in aerosol form allows quick and easy application. The FAN nozzle provides a more even spray pattern than a standard aerosol nozzle, with application properties similar to a conventional spray gun, helping the product to be applied more accurately and with better control.
The short drying time of approx. 15 minutes at 20 °C enables fast work, making the product ideal for preparing plastic parts, small repair areas and adhesion-critical substrates.

Application instructions
- Degreasing: clean and thoroughly degrease the surface to be treated.
- Sanding: prepare the surface with sandpaper according to the coating system requirements.
- Second cleaning: after sanding, remove dust and contamination, then degrease the surface again.
- Shaking: shake the can thoroughly for at least 2 minutes before use.
- Application: apply the primer in 1–2 thin, even coats.
- Flash-off between coats: allow 5–10 minutes between coats.
- Drying: allow approx. 15 minutes drying time at 20 °C.
- Valve cleaning: after use, turn the can upside down and spray for approx. 5 seconds until the valve is clear.
Usage tips
- The purpose of the product is to improve adhesion, so it should be applied in a thin, even layer.
- Careful degreasing and surface preparation are especially important on plastic surfaces.
- Using an adhesion promoter primer is particularly recommended for polypropylene and mixed plastic parts.
- Do not apply excessively thick layers, as the product works as an adhesion-promoting base layer.
- Wait for the specified drying time before applying further primer or topcoat layers.
