C.A.R.FIT 1K Plastic Primer Spray is a high-quality one-component adhesion promoter primer spray for plastic surface treatment. The product is designed to improve the adhesion of subsequent coating layers on almost all plastics, except for polyethylene.

Painting plastic parts requires careful surface preparation, as insufficient adhesion may later cause peeling, flaking or coating defects. C.A.R.FIT 1K Plastic Primer Spray dries quickly at room temperature, provides excellent adhesion to plastics and can be overcoated with both waterborne and solvent-based topcoats.

The product contains silver pigment for application control. This is especially useful when applying a thin adhesion-promoting primer layer, where even but not excessive coverage is important. The aerosol format allows quick, easy and practical application in workshops and smaller repair jobs.

Note: according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet, the product is not recommended for polyethylene surfaces.

Surface pretreatment

1. Cleaning: clean the plastic surface thoroughly.
2. Degreasing: degrease the surface with C.A.R.FIT Silicone Remover.
3. Matting: it is recommended to matt the surface to improve adhesion.
4. Second degreasing: after matting, clean and degrease the surface again.

Application data

Further treatment

The product can be overcoated after approx. 10–15 minutes at 20 °C. The exact drying time depends on ambient temperature, humidity and coating thickness.

Subsequent materials should always be applied according to plastic painting technology. C.A.R.FIT 1K Plastic Primer Spray can be overcoated with waterborne and solvent-based topcoats.

Storage and safety

• Pressurised aerosol container.
• Do not expose to direct sunlight.
• Do not store above 35 °C.
• Always perform a test spray before use.
• Workplace safety instructions and the safety data sheet must be followed.
