Applications
This extra high-build surfacer is developed for professional collision repair and is ideal for leveling large, uneven surfaces, fiberglass components, SMC panels, rigid plastics, and body filler repair areas. It provides a superior foundation for primer, filler, sealer, and topcoat systems.
Surface Preparation
- Bare steel, galvanized steel, aluminum: must be primed with high-quality epoxy or self-etch primer before applying Slick Sand.
- Pre-painted surfaces: sand the repair area with 180–220 grit, then finish with 320 grit featheredge; degrease before application.
- Body filler surfaces: sand with 180–220 grit, featheredge with 320 grit, then blow off dust and degrease.
Mixing and Application
- Shake and stir thoroughly before use.
- Add MEKP hardener at 2% by weight and mix until uniform.
- Apply using a primer spray gun with a minimum 2.0 mm nozzle.
- Spray 2–3 medium wet coats, allowing 10–15 minutes flash time between coats.
- Allow approx. 2 hours drying time before sanding (longer over self-etch primer).
